The Salvation Army BC Floods Relief Grant

The Salvation Army is providing financial relief for victims of the 2021 BC flooding through a grant program. Grant money will be distributed to those individuals and families that can demonstrate a need resulting from the floods of 2021. Our aim is to provide you with a process that is simple and free of complexity, while still satisfying our responsibility to our donors and their true intentions.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE?

Residents of British Columbia who can demonstrate a loss or need due to the flooding in 2021. Applications will be reviewed using a criteria-based approach for approval and they will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis by our organization. You must demonstrate that you are a resident of the region in order to be eligible. The amount of grant funds will be determined based on need and how much financial assistance has been received from other agencies such as the Canadian Red Cross.

BASIC CRITERIA:

Appropriate use of funding for all grant recipients Grant funds must be used within British Columbia. These funds were donated to our organization willfully by generous and caring individuals and businesses across the province and the country – and in your own community. As such, we have an obligation to ensure it is used responsibly and we can demonstrate transparency and accountability.

  • Direct personal needs: clothing, food and household items, temporary cost of accommodation, vehicle expenses
  • Loss of employment income
  • Loss of property
  • Ability to provide estimates / receipts / invoices / financial statements

MAXIMUM FUNDING LEVELS:

The maximum amount of money an individual or family can receive for a grant will be determined by The Salvation Army on a case-by-case basis.
