About Us

The Salvation Army in Kamloops first opened its doors in 1915. Over the years the buildings and services provided have changed but our goal has remained the same. We exist to respond to the needs of our community, offering practical assistance and consistent outreach while building lasting relationships. Together we work to create a community where everyone is welcome.

What the Community Says...

The community often lets us know how we have impacted their lives. Below are some quotes from people who's lives have been touched by the work we do.

All the staff and volunteers are amazing. ...
The kindness and the empathy and the compassion shown to each individual, is just so unbelievable. To witness it in this day and age is beyond amazing. Just watching everything that they provide for individuals is by far the kindest around.

They actually help you. No money needed for services. They're truly a poor person's friend.

Amazing people with huge hearts. Made me feel extremely welcome while helping me with a hamper. I wish I remember her name, but such a kind heart.

Worship Services

We invite you to gather with us every Sunday for our weekly worship service—a welcoming space where we grow in faith together through worship, teaching, music, and community. During the service, we also offer Sunday School for children aged 5–12, providing a fun and engaging environment where kids can learn and grow in their faith.
Worship Service: Sunday from 10:30 AM to 12 PM
Location: 290 Bridge St W, Belleville, ON K8P 5L6, Canada

Three adults at a Salvation Army installation

Welcome Captains Francisco & Eva Galvez!
This past Sunday we had the privilege of welcoming our new Corps Officers, Captains Francisco & Eva Galvez, to our church here in Kamloops. We also had the honour of welcoming our new Area Commander, Major Danny Pinksen, who performed the installation of our new Corps Officers. Captains Francisco and Eva brought a beautiful message with the title "One Body, One Mission, One Lord", making a commitment to our congregation and community to follow Jesus, preach His word, love us sincerely, and to seek God's direction faithfully. We ended our service with our monthly fellowship and a special cake to mark the occasion. To see more photos from Sunday, click the link below to head to our Facebook page.

Three adult females holding feminine hygiene products in front of an open car
News Jun 17, 2026
United Together
We have partnered together with United Way British Columbia in an effort to end period poverty. What, you may ask, is period poverty? Half of everyone who menstruates in BC have struggled to buy feminine hygiene products at some point in their lives and more than a quarter have gone through periods without having any at all. Single parents have had to choose between buying tampons or food for their family, and families skip out on social events like going to the library or the pool because it is easier to stay at home than risk bleeding in public. Teens miss school and parents miss work, and it isn't easy to ask for help. At The Salvation Army our four pillars are hope, service, dignity and stewardship, and partnering with United Way BC in their Period Promise aligns with all four. In serving those in need in our community (by providing access to the donations we receive from United Way BC) we provide hope for an easier tomorrow and dignity - being able to easily ask for something they need in a safe environment. And because we haven't spent any money on these products, we are able to help even more people with other vital services as well (like food insecurity). A big shout out and thank you to the United Way BC Kamloops team for always thinking of ways to support what we do here in Kamloops! Together we are united!
