Easter Jam Family Fun Night 2021 Hand out

You will need the following supplies to take part:

  • A computer, and if you have it a cable so you can connect it to your TV.

  • If you are not able to do this, a tablet or phone will work but it will need to be in a place where everyone can see.
  • Tub of icing

  • Chocolate Bunny (hollow but could use solid if need be)

  • 1 wooden spoon or hammer

  • Tea towel for each person

  • Plastic egg (or real if you dare) for each person

Go Egg Your Neighbour

Lastly, we want you to go egg your neighbours…. but not in the nasty trick or treat kind of way, but in a fun and loving kind of way. Our chances for community interaction this Easter is pretty limited so we wanted to give your family a way to celebrate Easter while sharing a message of hope during this difficult time. Pick up a package or two of chocolate eggs, and tie this print out to it. Then go and find a house to egg! You can do this as a surprise, maybe leave them in their mailbox, or you could set the on the doorstep and knock on the door so you can have a little safe physically distant visit.

.

If you have any questions, please contact Connie at 250-554-1611 ext 206.

Youth-Group at Home

Youth-group at home is a weekly take-home, do-it-yourself resource package put out by The Salvation Army every Friday. It contains an activity, snacks, a bible story, and engaging, funny, and fun age appropriate videos to compliment the Bible story.  Instructions for everything is included with each package. Our goal is for parents and kids to use this package to connect with each other through fun times, and experience the Word of God together through an easy and fun format.

Each week we’ll post an instruction booklet here for you to download so check back!

5 June 2020 – National Donut Day

.

.

This week for family fun night, we are celebrating National Donut Day!

.

Annually celebrated on the first Friday of June, National Donut Day was established by The Salvation Army in 1938 to honour The Salvation Army’s “Donut Lassies,” who served these delicious treats to soldiers during World War 1. The Salvation Army celebrated the first ever National Donut Day in Chicago back in 1938. The celebration was to help raise funds during the Great Depression and commemorate the work of these women. Today, the donut is symbolic of all the social services The Salvation Army provides to those in need.

.

During the current global pandemic, it serves as a token of appreciation to those working on the front lines and serving the community. The Salvation Army still serves meals, treats and hydration to those in need during times of disaster.

Ready@Home

.

Ready @ Home Remote Resources are here to support families during this time at home. The Salvation Army Canada Bermuda Youth are working hard to provide families with weekly Sunday School Lessons through Orange for Preschool, Kids, and Preteens, as well as Anger Management, Anxiety, and Crisis Conversation Tools.

.

This time of year our focus in worship often turns to our Partner Territories across the globe. While we are at home we can still take time to remember those that need our support and raise funds to support our Partner Territories. Despite all that we are going through they are dealing with the same issues without the same government supports. Through this link you can access activities and object lessons to do as a family!
