Family Ministry Coordinator
- Wage: $23.00 – $26.00/hour
- Full Time: 37.5 hours / week

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of local outreach strategies, including partnership, awareness, and mobilization
- Assist with recruiting, training and leading volunteers for outreach efforts
- Cultivate relationships with the leaders of our local ministries and community partners.
- Work with CFS Coordinator to provide oversight and operation leadership for outreach ministries and events
- Provide support in congregational ministry as needed which includes being a member of The Salvation Army Kamloops congregation.
- Participate in the annual ministry planning process
- Participate in the budgeting process,
- Manage & budget expenditures
- Maintains confidentiality and keeps accurate program statistics
- Provides ongoing support to families as needed
- Provides spiritual guidance when appropriate and uses opportunities to pray with and share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with families
- Encourages families to participate in programs and services offered by our Community Ministries as well as our Church
- Will help develop and facilitate programs for children and families, as appropriate
- Assists in the coordination and organization of seasonal or special programs/events such as; Christmas Hampers, Community Programs / Events (Brave), Back to School, Camps and Community Dinners
- Extensive knowledge and proficiency with MS Office programs, Database inputting and general office equipment
- Performs other duties as required

Qualifications & Experience
- Bible College Certificate or equivalent
- The successful candidate must have a minimum of 2 years prior experience, including life skills
- An understanding of and support for the Mission Statement of the Salvation Army in Canada
- Excellent customer/donor service ethics including the ability to deal with the public in a friendly manner
- A proven ability to work in a team setting as well as a willingness to take personal initiatives
- The ability to adapt to change and interruptions to a normal work routine, and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
- A valid BC class “5” license with appropriate certification and proof of a clean drivers abstract
- The ability to maintain confidentiality.
- A willingness to adhere to a dress code of modesty, neatness and cleanliness
- The successful applicant must have, or be willing to obtain, a criminal record check, clearance from the National Abuse Registry and be bondable
- Minimum of Food Safe Level 1

Successful candidates, prior to hiring, may be required to provide:
- Background check consent.
- A clear vulnerable sector screening.
- A clean drivers abstract.
- Completion of our online Armatus Abuse Training and required Health and Safety training.
